Stainless Steel is not a single metal but an alloy that is a metal
made from two or more separate elements alloyed or "melted"
together.

Stainless steel is widely used in food service and food processing industries for sanitary
purposes which require NSF Approval. Stainless steel fabrication is also ideal for
marine, medical, and decorative applications due to its long lasting high finish and its
resistance to corrosion.
Advantage to using stainless steel is that it is fire and heat resistant allowing it to resist
fire scaling retaining its strength at high temperatures. Its non-porous surface makes it
hygienic and easily cleaned making it the primary choice for applications which require
strict hygiene control.
Some disadvantages are its high cost of final polishing and finishing. Stainless Steel is
difficult to weld due to its fast dissipation of heat which can also produce ruined pieces
or high scrap costs.
